  • Earrings – Options Beyond Studs

    March 3, 2016

That pair of diamond studs is a classic. You likely wear them to work and when you are going out with friends. However, there is more to life than just diamond studs! When you consider purchasing a new pair of earrings, what do you think about buying? If your answer is: “another pair of studs,” it may be time to begin exploring the different options available in earrings, and think outside the stud. Here are some types of earrings to consider

Whether these have a fishhook back or a stud back, a dangle earring is a dramatic choice to wear with a deep neckline. While feathers and beads may be popular among youth, there are plenty of sophisticated styles available too. The most complex, and largest dangle earrings may be a signature piece while simpler designs can be worn alongside other jewelry pieces.

    Button Earrings

A play on the standard stud, the button earring is a slightly larger stud with a smart look. These are an excellent choice for workwear since they do not detract from a professional appearance. Button-style earrings come in many colors, styles and shapes.

Hoops, both small and large, are always a good choice. Small eternity hoops can be worn 24 hours a day, just like a simple pair of studs; however, the larger, more complex hoops are certainly pieces that will need to be taken out at night.

    Cuff Earrings

In some cases, these can be worn even by those who don’t have piercings. A cuff will slide around the mid portion of the ear and can be small or large. The cuff earring comes in and out of fashion through the years, but a simple design can be a good choice no matter if they are “in” or out.

    Chandelier Earrings

Chandelier earrings are a type of dangle earring, but a style all their own. They tend to be classier and often come in ethnic designs as well as standard metallic shades.
